In 2008, Manchester Velodrome plays host to the track cycling competition at the Paralympic World Cup for the fourth consecutive year. The Velodrome track has established itself as the world's leading track cycling venue.
It has already hosted two world track championships, a Commonwealth Games, as well as world cups, world record attempts and numerous national championships. Banked to almost 45° in the corners, it is 250m in length and can hold up to 3,500 seated spectators. The GB team has been based at the track since the late Nineties and the venue has been host to the governing body of cycle sport, British Cycling, since 1994.

Car parking
Free parking for ticket holders is located adjacent to the Velodrome. Disabled spaces are available at the front of the building and should be arranged directly with the Velodrome on +44 (0)161 223 2244.
Services for disabled spectators
- Wheelchair spaces are available, with one companion seat each for both the wheelchair basketball and track cycling competitions.
- There is an additional accessible entrance to the wheelchair basketball event, which is signposted at the Velodrome.
- Guide dogs are permitted.
- Wheelchair accessible toilets are available.
