It has already hosted two world track championships, a Commonwealth Games, as well as world cups, world record attempts and numerous national championships. Banked to almost 45° in the corners, it is 250m in length and can hold up to 3,500 seated spectators. The GB team has been based at the track since the late Nineties and the venue has been host to the governing body of cycle sport, British Cycling, since 1994.
